Music Monday III

I have spent my life seeking all that's still unsung.
Bent my ear to hear the tune, and closed my eyes to see.
When there was no strings to play, you played to me.

Picture Day

With his first birthday coming up, we decided to take Sam for some professional pictures today. He had six different poses - these are the four we liked the best.

I think this is my favorite. He was having so much fun with the photographer :)



This is another of the block pictures...sitting and smiling!



This picture was an adventure to get. He started off by sitting in this chair. That is, until he fell off of it...ummm, twice. This one is better than the sitting ones would have been though. His expression and his hand motion are much more him!



Then, because it was a birthday picture, the photographer had encouraged us to bring a cupcake for him to play with. He loved making a mess of things!

Shoe Shopping

We went shopping at a local kids shoe store to get Sam his first pair of walking shoes. We went in planning to get him some hipster shoes, but the salesman talked us out of it, and into getting him traditional white ones. We were a little bummed at first but he made sense, and the white ones ended up looking cute...



Not to mention that as soon as he had them on he decided that he had to walk everywhere! We're guessing that he'll be on his own in a few weeks...

Dad Time

I had to take Sam to a doctor's appointment at 11:00 am today, so I was able to spend some of the morning playing with him while he got into everything :)

We walked around and around the coffee table...



We took things off of shelves (before)



...and put them on the ground (after)



and we spread toys out and tried to open all the drawers in reaching distance!

Want some food...in your hair?

Sam decided to explore a new spa treatment in his hair...it's called pasta and sauce...



Seems to have worked, don't you think?

Playoff Bound!

While it looks like they won't win the AL East, the Sox clinched a playoff spot (and eliminated the Yankees) with their win over the Indians tonight!

Another Music Monday

We didn't get any pictures of Sam's music class today...but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have a music monday...

And the band keeps playin' on!

Ava's B-Day Bash

We went to Sam's friend Ava's birthday party today. He did a lot of fun things, including playing with water bottles, sliding on the slide, going fishing for rubber duckies, and, riding a pony! That was by far the highlight of the day.

Music Days are Back!

We've gone from Music Wednesdays to Music Mondays. Sam and his mom are going to a new music class called Dancing Bears Music and Sam really likes it...what's not to like about more guitars, right?!

A stormy afternoon

Sam's cousin Owen came over and spent the afternoon with us yesterday. It was really stormy outside so we spent our time inside.



The highlight of the day was their tupperware party :)

Scribble Center

Grandma and Grandpa bought Sam a "Scribble Center" recently. It's a chalkboard on an easel. As you can see, he's a big fan! It even distracts him from realizing that he stands on his own...

Eleven Months Plus

Sam was eleven months on September 3 and we forgot to take his picture, so we went to the beach this morning to see if Hanna was coming in yet and took a few...with an adjustment on his sign :)
